Paxton House is family friendly, fun, and full of treasures including a nationally significant collection of Chippendale and Trotter furniture and masterpieces from the National Galleries of Scotland. Everyone is welcome and there is something for all ages. Don’t forget to bring the dog along too!

Explore 80 acres of grounds, gardens, riverside and woodland, including an adventure play park complete with zip wire and scenic boat trips down the River Tweed. Or, treat yourself with an indulgent afternoon tea in the Stables Tearoom and a trip to the Regency Gift Shop.
You can also stay at Paxton in one of our self-catered apartments, or in our caravan park nestled in the historic Walled Garden.
- House Tours – We are delighted to be able to invite you to join a limited number of house tours. Socially distanced and limited to two ‘bubbles’, pre-booked guided tours of the principal rooms leave at 1pm; 2pm; 3pm and 4pm.
- Stable Tearoom – The Stables Tearoom serves a range of delicious meals, light bites and sweet treats in the original Georgian stable block where you will have stunning views of the entrance courtyard and portico of Paxton House.
- Woodland Trails – At Paxton, you can explore 2 miles of woodland paths meandering through the landscape gardens created as a setting for the house in the 1750s. Mature trees and the riverside setting create a haven for wildlife and conceal a Woodland Playground all children will love.
