Burnmouth is the first harbour in Scotland on the Eastern Border. Travel through the town and down The Brae to find the quaint harbour. With just a few fishing boat, Burmouth is a great place to have a picnic and enjoy the waves at sea. Look out for the seals who enjoy bathing in the sun.
In October 1881, there was a major fishing disaster which claimed the lives of 189 fishermen including 27 Burnmouth fishermen. On the harbour wall there is a memorial which depicts the women and children left behind. You will also find an information plaque on local history.
